Exam rules: You may use only a writing instrument while taking this test. You may not consult any calculators, computers, books, nor each other. 1. Answer the multiple-choice questions (problems 1 – 10) by marking your answer on the scantron form. For each multiple-choice question (problems 1 – 10), select only one answer. Questions with more than one answer selected will be considered incorrect. If your student ID is not listed properly on the Scantron form (in the bubbles on the top-left corner) or if you do not use a Nr. 2 pencil, the form will not be processed and you loose points for all multiple-choice questions. 2. Problems 11, 12, and 13 must be answered in the blue exam booklets (answer questions 11 and 12 in booklet 1 and question 13 in booklet 2.) The answers need to be well motivated and expressed in terms of the variables used in the problem. You will receive partial credit where appropriate, but only when we can read your solution. Answers that are not motivated will not receive any credit, even if correct. At the end of the exam, you need to hand in your exam, the blue exam booklets, and the scantron form. All items must be clearly labeled with your name, your student ID number, and the day/time of your recitation. If any of these items are missing, we will not grade your exam, and you will receive a score of 0 points. " Please note the following: 1. Bring your student ID. You will also need to know your ID # (which is not listed on your student ID) since you need to write it on all exam materials. If your scantron form will not have your ID # entered in the appropriate bubbles on the form (top left) you will receive no grade for the multiple-choice questions since these forms are processed by a electronically. 2. Your written solutions must be answered in 2 booklets. After the exam, the booklets will be separated and the answers will be graded by different graders. If you answer question 13 in booklet 1 (where questions 11 and 12 are answered), you will not receive points for question 13. 3. You only need a pen, a # 2 pencil, an eraser, and your ID when you take your exam. All other items, such as your coat, your bag, food, etc. will have to be put in the back of Hubbell before the exam starts. 4. You can only sit at the seats where a brown envelope is laying. 5. Cell phones are NOT allowed in the exam room. Although I will not inspect your backpacks, if I find a cell phone it will be confiscated and it will be considered an act of academic dishonesty. 6. You MUST use a pencil (# 2) on the scantron form. If you use a pen, the machine will not read your answers and you will not receive credit for the multiple-choice questions. 7. You can enter Hubbell at 7.45 am. You cannot leave until 8.45 am. No one can start the exam after 8.45 am. If you show up late, you will have less time to finish the exam.
